Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) says:

Not one of the plague falls, and in his country there is an expected patient who knows that he does not stipulate him except what God has written for him except that he has the same as the reward of a witness.

If the plague (or any other dangerous contagious disease) comes and the man stays in his hometown and wait for God and know that he will not reach him except what God has made for him, God Almighty will give such a martyr’s reward.
